The new generation of Audi Q5 makes its autumn debut, marking a new era for luxury SUVs

Recently, Audi officials revealed that the new generation of Audi Q5 standard axle version is planned to make its world debut this autumn. The appearance and interior design of this new car are close to the final mass production form, as can be seen from the test spy photos previously exposed. It is also reported that its long-wheelbase version, the new generation Audi Q5L, is expected to hit the domestic market in 2025. The official price range of the Audi Q5L currently on sale in China is 398,800 to 488,800 yuan.

In terms of design, the front face of the new generation Audi Q5 is more traditional, without the split headlight design such as the Audi Q6 e-tron. The front face of the new car will be flatter, and the iconic large-area midnet interior will be scaly and equipped with vents below. The side of the body maintains a tight line, and the side skirt may add a similar decorative panel to the Audi Q6 e-tron. The rear structure has been adjusted to appear more layered, and Audi’s latest family-style taillight design is adopted to highlight the digital technology atmosphere.

In the interior part, according to recent spy photos, the interior layout of the new generation Audi Q5 is similar to that of the new generation Audi A5, with an integrated design of the dashboard and central control screen that surrounds the driver, slightly tilting towards the driver’s side.

In terms of powertrain, the new Audi Q5 will offer a wide range of options, including gasoline and diesel engines and plug-in hybrid versions, all equipped with 48-volt light hybrid technology and quattro four-wheel drive system. It is predicted that the pure electric range of plug-in hybrid models may exceed 100 kilometers.

Considering the market performance, the domestic Audi Q5L currently ranks fifth in the sales ranking of medium-sized SUVs, with sales reaching 65,456 units in the past six months, surpassing the Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3. With the completion of the replacement of the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the overseas release of the new BMW X3, the addition of the new Audi Q5 in the future will undoubtedly bring a new competition landscape to the luxury medium-sized SUV market, which is worth looking forward to.
