In addition to the regulations prohibiting betel nut advertising, the relevant regulations on fasting betel nut are gradually increasing. The earliest prohibition of betel nut was the "Regulations on the Prohibition of the Production, Sale and Use of Betel Nut in Xiamen" promulgated by Xiamen Municipal People’s Government in 1996. Judging from the current situation, betel nut is facing the dilemma of embarrassing identity.

In recent years, the increasing planting area of betel nut has promoted the development of betel nut industry in Hainan Province and Hunan Province, and made great contributions to the local economic development.
