Recently, Changan Mazda officially revealed that its new car – Mazda EZ-6 will start pre-sale on September 28. The new car is jointly developed by Mazda and Changan, built on the Changan EPA platform, taking into account both pure electricity and range extension.
In appearance, the new car follows Mazda’s family-style Soul design, ensuring a good recognition. The pure electric version of the front of the car adopts a closed treatment, while the extended-range version is closer to Mazda’s fuel car, using an open treatment. In addition, the headlights of the new car use a split structure, the main light source is hidden under the daytime running lights, and the light strip around the front grille is very good in overall style. The official call it "Wings of Light", which is indeed better looking than the lights of Mazda’s previous products.
The side of the new car adopts a short front and rear overhang design, which can bring a strong sporty atmosphere to the whole vehicle. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4921/1890/1485mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2895mm. In addition, it should be noted that due to the addition of batteries, the height of the new car body and the visual heaviness of the side of the car will increase, and people who are used to the elegant feeling of Mazda before may not be suitable for the first time.
In terms of the rear, the new car adopts a slip-back design, and the details use a through-type light group and a ducktail design to ensure a good sense of hierarchy. In addition, the light cavities on both sides of the tail lights are similar to the designs of many Mazda products, ensuring a generation of brand recognition.
In the interior, the new car adopts a simple design, the center console has no physical buttons, and the main elements are the full LCD instrument and the floating 14.6-inch large screen in addition to the steering wheel. This more technological design is absolutely invisible in Mazda’s previous products. In terms of the car machine, the new car has a built-in 8155 chip, which integrates air conditioning, seats, entertainment and other functions, and the overall performance is fair.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with two power systems, pure electric and range extension, of which the pure electric system is equipped with a rear single motor with a maximum power of 190 kilowatts; the range extension version is equipped with a 1.5L range extender with a maximum power of 70 kilowatts and a motor power of 160 kilowatts.
