Yan Yanchun, deputy director of the State Council Information Bureau:
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the press conference of the State Council Information Office. Tomorrow is Poverty Alleviation Day, so today we hold a special meeting. We invited three disabled people and a disabled person to exchange ideas with you on how to help the disabled get rid of poverty independently. We are very familiar with the saying that getting rid of poverty is not an easy task in itself, and helping the disabled get rid of poverty may face greater difficulties and challenges. Today, we look at them and ask them to talk to us about how they got rid of poverty.
Let me introduce the comrades who met with you today one by one. They are: Mr. Li Jian, secretary of the Party branch of Tongbai County, Henan Province; Ms. Jia Ru, president of Xingtang County Disabled People’s Double Creation Park, chairman of Hebei Rujun Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Xie Lv, a disabled volunteer in charge of the blind massage shop in Tengchong City, Yunnan Province; and Ms. Liu Hongxia, a typical example of planting and breeding to get rid of poverty in Luobei County, Heilongjiang Province. They also come from different parts of our country. As you can see, they have their own different situations. Next, please talk to them separately, first Mr. Li Jian.
Li Jian, Party branch secretary of Fulou Village, Tongbai County, Henan Province, the old revolutionary base area:
Hello, friends. I am Li Jian, a disabled person from the old revolutionary base area in Tongbai County, Henan Province. I used to be an electrician at home, and I usually have a skill, so my family situation is ok. When I was overhauling a transformer, my right hand accidentally caught high-voltage electricity. Later, I had 11 operations. Although my life was saved, my right limb was amputated, and my leg was treated in a hospital in our city for 8 months and 27 days. Later, the doctor said that it was impossible to protect it, and my reaction was very strong. I thought that my arm had been amputated. What should I do in the future if my leg was amputated? In this way, I moved to Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital to treat three patients. I spent 360 days in the hospital and nearly a year at home. I have a brother with mental retardation, two children and an 84-year-old man in my family. During this period, I thought, if I lie down like this, what should I do with my family in the future? So I insisted on rehabilitation exercise and prepared to do something. During this period, when I was preparing to do something, my wife suddenly had a cerebral hemorrhage and hemiplegia. I was really desperate about this situation in my family.
At this time, I think, such a poor and bitter life has to go on, otherwise, what should the old people and children do? So I talked to my relatives and friends who planted green onions nearby, and I insisted on exercising every day. When I was able to walk slowly, I began to borrow money from my relatives and friends and planted green onions. However, in 2014, the planting amount of green onions was very large, which caused the unsalable sales of green onions and lost more than 200,000 yuan at one time. During that period, I was very desperate. At that time, the country helped the poor, and I was a poor household in the village. At that time, I thought whether to give up or stick to it. At this time, the cadres in our village and town supported me, and I thought I had to continue and continue to do it. Finally, I made about 100 acres of land and planted onions. During this period, I went to the fields every day, and I did a lot of work that I could do. In two years, I learned some planting techniques and mastered some market information. Since 2016, plus I planted green onions, including other crops, in the project of participating in dividends and grain subsidies for poor households, the one-time net income of that year reached 130,000. In 2016, I took off the hat of poor households.
Later, the villagers thought I was very capable and able to bear hardships. During this period, our village rushed to the two committees of the village to participate in the election this year. Many party member cadres and many people offered to let me run for the village party secretary. I was very hesitant about this matter. I thought about my poor health. If I were a village party secretary, would it have an impact on my family economy? Later, many people advised me, and I let go of my ideological burden. During the election campaign, many villagers supported me, and I was elected as the village party secretary with a high vote. I think I must make the villagers rich. If I don’t make the villagers rich, it’s meaningless for me to be the branch secretary. I built a mushroom planting base this year, and now it has the scale of 70 thousand bags. It is estimated that I can collect more than 100 thousand yuan this year. In addition, the market for growing mushrooms is very stable. We are now planning to build a breeding base, which can drive many disabled households, including poor households, to grow crops, such as wheat, on an acre of land, with a minimum income of six or seven hundred yuan. This income is two or three thousand or even five or six thousand. There are some poor households, some of which are invested by the government and paid dividends every year. We have also set up a cattle farm, and each calf government in the cattle farm contributes part of it to feed and manage it by itself. It is very normal for a cow to earn 8,000 yuan every year if it doesn’t earn. Now a cow sells more than 10,000 yuan, and the government invests 5,000 yuan. I think we disabled people should, like normal people, not only support our families, but also create miracles. If we degenerate, we will certainly have no development for a better life. So, I want to say here that we disabled people should be like normal people. We should dare to create miracles, and let us embark on the road of prosperity together.
Attack Yan Chun:
Thank you, Secretary Li Jian. He talked about his own affairs, including the things in the village, and everyone can feel full of feelings. The next few are a little brief, because we can talk about it later in combination with your questions.
Jia Ru, Chairman of Hebei Rujun Technology Co., Ltd. and Director of Xingtang County Disabled Double Creation Garden:
Hello, media friends. I am Jia Ru, the person in charge of the double-creation garden for the disabled in Xingtang County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, and an ordinary rural woman. In the past 15 years, I have been taking these groups to get rid of poverty and get employment, from selling vegetables at the beginning to making supermarkets to selling and producing clothes, until May 19th this year, with the strong support of our county party committee and county government, we invested more than 6 million yuan to set up a dual-creation park for the disabled in Xingtang County. This park accommodates a total of nine sections, including manual therapy for the disabled, agricultural therapy, rehabilitation and foster care, and now it operates nine sections of rehabilitation area and poverty alleviation project docking area, where we all eat and live for free, but we disabled people who live in the park must rely on our own hands to stand on our own feet and earn our own income, even if we have a little ability to work.
Up to now, there are 161 people staying in our park, including 87 poor disabled people who have set up a file, but our double-creation park is not our destination, but our starting point. Now we take the double-creation park as the core and radiate to all administrative villages in Xingtang. We have 70 "hands-on workshops for helping the poor and the disabled". Up to now, we have helped 2,119 people to find jobs and get rid of poverty. It is estimated that 5,000 people will get out of poverty by the year. On the way we took them along, we also formulated a unique poverty alleviation model for the disabled in Tang Dynasty, that is, the cottage industry with the main body of "taking the disabled as the strong, loving the weak and taking care of the day" was lifted out of poverty. I believe that we will take disabled friends with our own hands and make our own way by our own unique operation mode.
Xie Lv, head of blind massage shop and disabled volunteer in Tengchong City, Yunnan Province:
Hello, media reporters. My name is Xie Lv. I’m 28 years old. I come from Tengchong, Yunnan Province. I’m also the owner of a blind massage shop and a volunteer for the disabled. My father died when I was 6 years old, and my mother brought me up alone. In 2011, a car accident made me blind, which made the poor family worse. In 2014, my family was included in the poverty-stricken households with the establishment of a file card. In order to support this family, in 2017, I participated in the training course of helping the blind to get rid of poverty sponsored by the Municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation. Three months after graduation, with the help of the disabled persons’ federations at all levels, I opened a massage shop for the blind. The shop needed massage beds, disinfection cabinets, sofas, televisions and other equipment, including all massage chairs and massage clothes, which were equipped by the Tengchong Disabled Persons’ Federation. I started business without any preparation.
Since opening, I have always insisted on serving the guests with the best mental state and massage technology. God rewards hard work, and my enthusiastic massage service has been recognized by more and more guests. There are more repeat customers, business is getting better and better, and apprentices with disabilities have been recruited. Now the massage shop has been open for more than a year, and I have roughly calculated that there are more than 40,000 incomes a year, which makes my life better and better. Now, I can earn my own living with my own hands. I also join the disabled volunteer team set up by Tengchong Disabled Persons’ Federation. On the 1st of every month, I will go to respect the elderly for public welfare, give massages, haircuts, repair furniture, etc. to the old people, and do something that I can. The project of helping the blind get rid of poverty has lifted my family out of poverty, and I deeply feel the concern of the party and the government for our disabled people. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those who have been caring and helping me. I will try my best to pass on the love I have received to more people in need, so that the world and your love will continue and the world will be full of love. Thank you.
Liu Hongxia, a typical example of planting and breeding to get rid of poverty in Luobei County, Heilongjiang Province;
Hello, media friends. My name is Liu Hongxia. I am 34 years old. I live in a beautiful small village on the Sino-Russian border. I live in Shi Hu Village, Taipinggou Township, Luobei County, hegang, Heilongjiang Province. My family consists of three people. My husband is 36 years old and my daughter is 10 years old. I am in the fourth grade of the fourth primary school in Luobei County. Because my husband and I are both physically disabled at the fourth grade, and the per capita land is less than 3 mu. In 2014, my family was rated as a national poverty-stricken household. My husband had another car accident and owed more than 100,000 yuan in medical expenses. Because of the national policy, I was rated as a poverty-stricken household with a filing card and a low-income household, which was guaranteed accordingly. Here I thank the Party, its good policies and President Xi for guiding us into a new era. Thank you all.
Attack Yan Chun:
Just chatting, Hong Xia came to Beijing for the first time and has never been here before.
Liu Hongxia:
Yes, I haven’t been here. I’m still quite excited.
Attack Yan Chun:
The four comrades we invited, although their words were very simple, all spoke their hearts. In the whole big work of getting rid of poverty, there is such a group that needs our help and attention very much. They are also making unremitting efforts to change their own destiny and life. So, let’s see if journalists and friends have any concerns, and let’s have an exchange with them.
CCTV reporter from the Central Radio and Television General Station:
The four representatives are all from the grassroots level. I would like to ask you to introduce some experiences and innovative practices in the process of getting rid of poverty. What is the biggest difficulty encountered on the road of poverty alleviation for the disabled, and how do we solve it? Thank you.
Li Jian:
What are the difficulties of the disabled, especially the severely disabled, in our efforts to get rid of poverty? Usually, in their employment, the severely disabled themselves are disabled, especially the severely disabled, and they need family care, so their family income is gone, such as going out to work and so on. Take our village as an example, to engage in some industries, that is, to grow mushrooms, let them work nearby and do some simple work, and some lightly disabled people can work, such as picking mushrooms and watering roots, which are all ways to earn their income. The government also let them take shares in some aquaculture, such as crayfish breeding base, with an annual share of 5,000 yuan, which can be divided into 1,500 yuan each year to solve their employment problem. Our rural areas are engaged in environmental sanitation and village appearance, and according to their own situation, they are given employment nearby. In addition to cooking at home and caring for the disabled, they can also do some work within their power nearby. The poverty alleviation project in our village is to make some small toys, which can be made by people without skills. Although they don’t earn much money every day, they can earn 350 yuan, up to 100 yuan. This is how we solved this situation.
Xie Lu:
Thank you for the reporter’s question. We blind people are now engaged in the massage industry, and there are many in the country. However, in recent years, the massage industry is also very difficult. For example, in terms of innovation, many blind people can create many massage techniques by themselves, just like the so-called master leads the door and practice depends on individuals. There are several masters in our country. I often listen to the radio. It is said in the radio that they can treat high blood pressure by massage, which can quickly lower blood pressure in a few minutes. In fact, these are the innovations of our masseurs. In our place, many people can create some new massage techniques with their own methods, which makes customers very satisfied. For us blind people, besides massage, we can learn and innovate a lot, such as being a Andhadhun and an anchor, and we can also learn various musical instruments. I believe we can all learn and learn well. Thank you.
Attack Yan Chun:
I just chatted with Xie Lv, but his hearing became more sensitive after he became blind. So Xie Lv said just now that he wanted to learn music, including being a Andhadhun. I think he also has higher ideals and more pursuits and ideas.
Xie Lu:
For example, I actually want to do and learn a lot now, so I can further my studies when I get the chance.
Attack Yan Chun:
You are still young, and there are still many opportunities.
Jia Ru:
For the disadvantaged group of disabled people, the most important and difficult thing is to stimulate their endogenous motivation and ensure their sustainable development, no matter which category of disabled people we have. Take our double-creation garden as an example. The reason why it is called the disabled double-creation garden contains two meanings, one is entrepreneurship and the other is innovation.
In the process of starting a business, we accommodate a lot of manual work suitable for different age groups and different levels of disability. More importantly, our innovation is a key. We are an enterprise, and we have come with such a group for so many years and experienced a lot. But at present, if I answer this question from the position of an enterprise, it is nothing more than that funds and policies, including the market, regard me as a leader of the disabled. But to be honest, I feel that the most critical thing now is the overall market. Whether I bring their own products or other products made by the disabled themselves, I am now facing a big problem. Therefore, if we want to face the biggest problem, I hope that the products produced by disabled friends can be recognized by the society. In fact, what they want is quite simple. I also brought something with me when I came here today. This is a small mask. This small mask looks very ordinary. This is the emerging raw material approved by the State Science and Technology Commission last year, which landed in our Shuangchuang Garden. This is also an innovation of ours, relying on our disabled people’s hands to produce high-tech products belonging to our disabled people, and to play them all over the country. With such a small mask, maybe everyone looks quite simple, but I don’t think so. I have witnessed every link of every product made by disabled people all the time. I think it is spiritual, and every small needle and thread contains all their love. This small mask and every small product include all their dreams and hopes. They hope that the products they made with love and their efforts can get just what we need, and give them such love and such products with spirituality. At the same time, they hope that all people in the whole society can give them a response and confidence and make them feel that they are also great. Therefore, I think when they are making every product, every time they walk in front of them, they can walk into their double-creation garden and see them doing one of the links with one hand. I believe everyone will be shocked. In view of this topic here, including the jujube tea cooked by farmers themselves, in our national poverty-stricken counties in the Tang Dynasty, they used the advantages of the hometown of jujube in the Tang Dynasty to fry this jujube tea by the most farmer’s frying method, and they named it "ugly tea". They hope that they can drink the beauty from the inside out while drinking this tea, because these things are not only made by me with these disabled people, but I feel that everything made by every disabled person is special now. Therefore, I also take this opportunity today. I hope that all people can pay attention to our group, give them an affirmation, and they will give you the best and truest things.
Liu Hongxia:
Because I am from a small mountain village, our village is small and there are fewer disabled people, but we have the spirit of self-improvement and never giving up, and we have lifted ourselves out of poverty. I hope that both disabled people and ordinary people will live a beautiful and happy life with their own efforts and the support of the government.
China Daily reporter:
Excuse me, Secretary Li Jian, just now you mentioned that you overcame some difficulties in the process of leading disabled villagers to get rich together, and also put forward some solutions. What is the motivation to support you to do so? What supports you to lead disabled villagers to get rich together? Thank you.
Li Jian:
I think so. At that time, there were three disabled people, an 84-year-old father and two students in my family of six. How can we live in this family? If we don’t try to do something, if we don’t work hard and struggle, it will definitely be meaningless to wait for help from others. Although we can solve some basic living, we can’t solve real poverty. Therefore, I think I should have ambition. Although people are disabled, I can’t be disabled. I think if we find a job suitable for ourselves, we must work hard and struggle by ourselves. With the support of this spiritual pillar, I told the disabled that we should have this spirit.
China News Agency reporter:
Excuse me, Ms. Liu Hongxia, as you mentioned just now, you have received a lot of help from the government in the process of getting rid of poverty. Can you give me two examples, which are concrete examples of your help? Thank you.
Liu Hongxia:
When I was in the most difficult time, because my husband was in a car accident in 2014 and owed more than 100,000 yuan in medical expenses, at this time, the government saw the actual situation at home, set up a file for poor households, and set up a minimum living allowance, but this was just to maintain. Later, in order for us to develop, our village cadres took the initiative to come to my house to talk about some cases of development and wealth. I also have an idea, that is, raising cattle. There is a family in our village that raises dozens of cows, one of which costs more than 10,000 yuan. I thought that I could raise three heads, one for 10,000, and three for 30,000, so I was not a poor household. I was very happy when I thought about it. I told my in-laws about this idea, and they also supported it. What should I do because I didn’t have money? I stayed at home for three or four days, but I couldn’t help it. I told the village cadres about this idea. He jumped up excitedly and said that there was no problem with this matter. The government had it, and I helped you coordinate the loan, so the loan of 10,000 yuan came down. At that time, it was particularly strict. He used his name as a guarantee and lent me 10,000 yuan. One cow is bought, because I want to buy three cows. What should I do? My father-in-law’s friend said that I would give you two on credit, and he gave it to you there. This is how my three cows are raised.
After this period of time, the government saw that the problem of making a living was not serious, and the project of Schisandra chinensis was also quite good. Knowing that my family can bear hardships, it took the initiative to help us plan to plant Schisandra chinensis. Schisandra chinensis is a long-term income project that can reach 15 to 20 years, and it will be effective in three years. This year is the third year of my family, and it will be fruitful. At the beginning of this year, there were not so many knots, but my family sold a total of 9,600 yuan. Our neighbor sold more than 30 thousand yuan, and I was very excited at that time. Our village cadres and villages helped coordinate the loan of 20 thousand yuan. At the end of 2015, the project was found to be quite good. There was no money, and the village cadres helped to coordinate the loan of 20,000 yuan. This money did not dare to move. By the beginning of 2016, this money was earmarked for planting Schisandra chinensis. At the beginning of 2016, Schisandra chinensis seedlings were bought back for 1 yuan. There were 1,100 trees in an acre, and the garden was 4 acres. It was impossible to grow vegetables, and it was also good to grow Schisandra chinensis. So it was planted, and the effect was quite good. I have expanded 3 mu this year, because our Luobei Forestry Bureau helped 2 mu of 3,300 seedlings, and Luobei Poverty Alleviation Office provided 200 pieces of dried cement for free. Even if we saved nearly 8,000 yuan and expanded 3 mu of Schisandra chinensis, it is expected that 2021 will be a fruitful period, and an acre of land will sell 10,000 yuan, which is 7 mu, so we can sell more than 70,000, and the harvest is particularly impressive. I am very happy. I am very grateful to the government and the party. Without these good policies, there would be no me today.
Attack Yan Chun:
Hong Xia remembers her journey clearly, including her help to the government and her friends.
Liu Hongxia:
Raising cattle and planting Schisandra requires some skills. We Luobei County and village cadres often come down to give guidance. We are a Schisandra homework village. The technical training is to teach you how to cut the residual branches and let you leave fruit branches. Step by step, because my hand was injured at that time, I had to rely on my left hand, but I couldn’t use it. I usually relied on my right hand. I was used to it. I just started to use my left hand scissors to hit the branches. Here I also say a word of thanks to the folks who helped me, and to the party and the government. Thank you.
Central Radio and Television General Station Yang Guang reporter:
As a representative of poverty alleviation for the disabled, what changes have taken place in your life and thoughts before and after poverty alleviation?
Liu Hongxia:
As far as I’m concerned, I’m actually grateful to those who helped me in times of difficulty. I have changed a lot. I got rid of poverty this year. I decided to buy some clothes for my mother-in-law at the end of this year during the Spring Festival, because I haven’t changed clothes for several years. It doesn’t matter what I wear because I work. I am very grateful to my mother-in-law for her life, and now she has changed a lot. I must buy her a decent dress for the Spring Festival this year. In a few years, we are going to buy a family car and get rid of poverty. I am very happy.
Li Jian:
Before getting rid of poverty, my family was particularly poor. Now, through my own efforts and this year’s struggle, I have bought a car, which is more encouraging to the people. They say that Li Jian has no arm, and he is not afraid of hardships when he goes to work in the fields every day. We have to follow suit and get rich slowly, so it is very important for me. Now I have bought a car and some furniture at home in recent years. Although there are disabled people at home, no one in the village looks at it.
Xie Lu:
Because I couldn’t see because of a car accident in 2011, because we were in the countryside, and our education level was not very high. Later, we didn’t have any jobs. After the car accident, it was really difficult at home, like I was very special. My father died when I was 6 years old, and my mother died because of a car accident the year after my car accident. In those years, there were many things in the family, and my wife carried the whole family alone. We also had one. I remember that in 2013, the family really couldn’t keep going. Our village arranged a minimum living allowance for us, and it was very difficult to live a normal life at home. We went to visit relatives and guests in the countryside, and sometimes we didn’t know it, but we went to be guests. When people went there, we had to hang some bride price, and our relatives also hung up. We blamed ourselves during that time.
Later, after several years, in 2014, the government issued a poverty alleviation policy, and my family also included poverty-stricken households who set up files and set up cards. Later, the relevant departments gave subsidies. I remember that the third time was the Mid-Autumn Festival, Tengchong City gave a Chinese New Year’s fee and sent it home. They gave 2,000 yuan, and they bought clothes for their families. In the following years, with the help of the Disabled Persons’ Federation government and departments at all levels, in 2014, there was a policy. I began to try to breed native chickens and rented a few acres of land. The rent was all about when and when to pay. It has been raised for more than a year, but it was ok at first, because it usually doesn’t snow in Tengchong. There was a heavy snow that year, which killed many chickens and caused a lot of losses. With the help of various departments, I learned the technology again, and now I have learned massage. In fact, I am very happy now, because I am not afraid to go out like before, because I feel that people my age can go out to work, and I look normal, but I can’t do anything. Now, whether I go out or go home, my waist is straight. Now I can confidently say that I can support the whole family through my hands and let my wife and two daughters live a better life. Thank you.
Attack Yan Chun:
Thank you, Xie Lv. Although there are ups and downs in life, there are actually more gains in this process.
Jia Ru:
Just listened to Xie Lv’s words, I have a deep feeling. When it comes to their changes, take all the disabled people who live in our park, just like Xie Lv. In fact, I think their changes have changed their living environment in addition to earning a dignity and an income by their own hands. The most important thing is their strength in their bones. They have changed from their bones, so they have made a difference from their hearts by relying on their own strength.
Guoguang reporter from Central Radio and Television General Station:
Hello, Xie Lv. Just now, when you introduced the situation, you said that the massage shop has been open for more than a year and is on the right track. What are your plans and plans for your next life? Thank you.
Now my massage shop has been open for more than a year. During this time, I have been studying massage techniques with great care, listening to radio and research, and I am very interested in studying anything useful to the massage industry. After attending the massage training for helping the blind to get rid of poverty last year, I think it is very important to learn knowledge. I want to continue to learn a lot of knowledge and skills, and I want to go to college. Because I have learned a lot of knowledge and skills, I can build my future life more perfectly and better. We blind massage, based on Chinese medicine, want to study and take an examination of a Chinese medicine university, study the technology more, and further plan the massage shop. Before I came to Beijing, the chairman of Tengchong Disabled Persons’ Federation told me that they wanted to turn my massage shop into an image shop to help the blind get rid of poverty. I’m really happy. My current massage shop is only over 30 square meters, and my ability is limited. I want to build a bigger shop and lead those blind friends who have no employment to my massage shop, because I know firsthand that it is really difficult to find a job. I want to expand the massage shop, and anyone who needs it is willing to go out and come to my massage shop. I am willing to teach them skills for free, so that they can realize a platform to support themselves with their own hands and lead them to start a new life. This is my original plan, thank you.
Guangming Daily reporter:
Ms. Jia Ru, you have been engaged in helping the disabled for many years, and you have encountered all kinds of difficulties. You have also witnessed the stories of many disabled friends creating a happy life with their hands. What do you think is the most touching and unforgettable thing along the way? Thank you.
Jia Ru:
Thank you for your question. What impressed me most along the way was, to be honest, an unforgettable touch. Along the way, in the past 15 years, I have brought them here in this way, and experienced difficulties that others can’t imagine, but the most touching sentence is an unforgettable touch. First of all, on the site, now our double-creation garden is that our county party committee and county government vacated the original open space of our county civil affairs nursing home, integrated these elderly people into our county’s comprehensive service center, vacated the site for us, gave us the site, and expanded from the original 9 mu to the current 20 mu, giving us a platform.
What I will never forget is that our county party secretary took us to sell our disabled people’s own products and traveled to many places, our own anti-haze masks and our own series of products. Because the secretary of the county party Committee is very busy, he takes the poverty alleviation of the disabled to heart, puts down his figure and face, and does everything for the disabled to get rid of poverty. It is also his encouragement, which gives me the confidence and courage to persist. Our county disabled persons’ Federation, including all departments of women’s federations, has always supported and helped us. Up to now, our county has given us nearly 3 million awards and support funds. With our county’s poverty alleviation subsidy for disabled employment, I have made an assessment here. The disabled people I lead must rely on their own hands for an income of not less than 500 yuan every month for six consecutive months. There are 2,400 yuan for each person and 1,000 yuan for employment support, which are used for the disabled people’s employment incentives. There is also the song "We Love Here" written by the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of our county and the director of the cultural center for this special group in our county up to now, which has sung the park and also resounded through the Tang Dynasty.
Before I came, everyone in our park was telling me that more than 100 people, maybe I came here today as their leader, but I should be sitting here with their dreams and hopes to meet with you. I represent all of them. When they came, they also told me, Director Jia, if you go there, you can bring the song of Double Creation Garden to everyone. This is our heartfelt voice and let everyone see our heartfelt spirit and cry. Today, because of the time, I take up a little of your time, so I will take two sentences to the media friends here. I can’t sing well. Just listen to the lyrics.
"Bitter fate, hurt, little dream just stand up. Touching myself and stepping onto the stage, my little wish is just to fly. "
I take these lyrics with the hope of our special group of people and represent their voices, so I dedicate these songs to the media friends present here. They especially want everyone to see the strength in their bones and work hard on their own. This is my heartfelt voice.
Attack Yan Chun:
Time relationship, last question.
Xinhua News Agency reporter:
You have just mentioned that over the years, the state and local governments have issued many relevant policies and assistance for the disabled to get rid of poverty. What policies do you think have played a very key role in getting rid of poverty or helping the disabled to get rid of poverty? Thank you.
Xie Lu:
With the support of government departments and disabled persons’ federations at all levels, the disabled persons’ federations at all levels have given financial support to help us start our own businesses, such as making shops and all kinds of necessary equipment more perfect and advanced, in a word, it is superior. Training technology, in recent years, the project of helping the blind get rid of poverty has been insisting on helping our blind friends, and there are several training and upgrading classes every year, which gives us confidence. Because the training course is not only a massage technique training, but also a lot of things worth learning and training. After the training, the trainees who have finished their own business training are invited to work in our store, which solves the problem of their difficulty in finding jobs and finding employees. This is a policy help to us.
Since the poverty alleviation project, with all kinds of training and support from governments at all levels and the Disabled Persons’ Federation, in fact, I am from the countryside, because I didn’t know about training before, and I didn’t even hear about it. I received a notice last year, and I felt very fresh and strange. When I went to the training of the Municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation, to be honest, many of them were disabled people in the mountains and really didn’t come out. Now, with the policy, many disabled people can learn technology and learning skills, and they can stand on their own feet, which is very good. Thank you.
Li Jian:
I want to say a word. I feel that the government’s main support now is "helping the poor and disabled". It is necessary to make poor households and disabled people have ambition and work hard on their own, so as to truly achieve the effect of poverty alleviation.
Jia Ru:
My understanding is also that it is better to teach people to fish than to teach them to fish. If we let our disabled friends go on, we must change their minds. I believe that the relevant funds and policies of the government can be used to stimulate their endogenous motivation, so that they can change from the heart, make them self-reliant by their own hands, make them determined first, and then encourage them to develop their own wisdom, innovate and realize their dreams. Therefore, I think we should pay more attention to their inner changes, which is a change in their thoughts. Thank you.
Liu Hongxia:
Our village is a small one, with only a few disabled people. Because the Disabled Persons’ Federation provides poverty relief, one person in 80 yuan and one year in 960 yuan, but we still have to rely on the spirit of self-improvement to create a better life, because if we don’t get a well-off life.
Attack Yan Chun:
Before the meeting is over, I wonder if the four delegates have anything to add.
Liu Hongxia:
I won’t say anything. I’m very grateful to the parents of the Disabled Persons’ Federation for their help, as well as our folks, brothers and sisters. Let’s work together for a better tomorrow. Thank you.
Xie Lu:
Finally, I want to thank all the journalists and friends, because in recent years, our government departments are also very concerned about the cause of the disabled, and we know it. But I hope all disabled friends can come out on their own. Because of the government’s help and support, we can’t rely solely on the government all our lives. Just as this person said just now, we should have ambition. For example, the blind can’t see, but we have hands. We can stand on our own feet and rely on our own hands to support ourselves. With the government’s support, but we blind and disabled people can’t walk out without following. Therefore, we should be confident and strong. No matter how difficult we encounter, we should believe that the difficulties are really only temporary. In the end, we should choose to smile at life, face the reality, bravely walk out, embark on the most beautiful road, and give our family and ourselves a bright return. Thank you.
Jia Ru:
Here I also have a word for all disabled friends. Don’t think that you are useless. Although we are physically disabled, we never give up. We rely on our own hands to make our own life. We have light in our hearts and are not afraid of the long road. Come on.
Li Jian:
I think, like ordinary people, we disabled people should insist on starting our own businesses, and don’t wait for others, including the government’s support. Support is on the one hand. Only when we start our own businesses can we really get rich. Thank you.
Liu Hongxia:
I have an idea. My husband and I have discussed that we are going to withdraw the minimum living allowance at the end of next year, give it to people in need, and let it go. Because we are out of poverty, it is getting better and better every day. I said that the minimum living allowance should be cancelled at the end of next year, so it is not necessary. Once again, I would like to thank the responsible person, my helpers and the resident team, who often guide our work. Thank you.
Attack Yan Chun:
There are so many people to thank that it is difficult to list them all.
Xie Lu:
It suddenly occurred to me to say something. Because yesterday was our 35th Day for the Blind, I am very happy to be here in the capital for this festival, which is a good gift. In the evening, I received good news. Yesterday, the Disabled Persons’ Federation installed a glass door in my shop. Because winter is coming, it is going to be winter, and it is a little cold. They installed a new door. Comrades of the Disabled Persons’ Federation, it is not easy for them. They are always thinking of us for the sake of our disabled people. Thank them. I will definitely work harder in the future and be able to repay the society and the party and the government with my own hands. Thank you.
Attack Yan Chun:
Thank you all. Today’s meeting time is not long. It should be said that among all the meetings I presided over, I personally think it is the most touching one. Personally, I am also very educated, encouraged and inspired. When we talk about tackling poverty, we often say that we need to help the poor and help the wise. I think the representatives of the disabled and the disabled people sitting on the stage today have explained to us with their personal experiences that sometimes the ambition of the disabled is higher than that of the healthy people. Their practice and efforts have encouraged us all and given us more confidence in the work of tackling poverty! At the same time, it also makes us feel that we should pay more attention and warmth to disabled friends, and let us run towards a better life together, which is also the goal of our party and government. Thank you again to the representatives on the stage, and thank you all. This is the end of today’s meeting.
