Figure China netizen scale and Internet penetration rate
After nearly 10 years of rapid growth, the demographic dividend gradually disappeared, and the growth rate of netizen scale tended to be stable. In 2016, the Internet industry in China developed towards standardization and value. First of all, the state has issued a number of rectification policies to accelerate the orderly and healthy development of various segments of the Internet and improve the Internet development environment; Secondly, the per capita internet consumption capacity of netizens has gradually improved, and the per capita consumption of netizens in online shopping, O2O, online entertainment and other fields has increased, and the driving force of online consumption growth for GDP growth has gradually emerged; Finally, the development of the Internet has enhanced the influence of enterprises. With the implementation of the "internet plus", the pace of enterprise internetization has been further accelerated.
In the future, China will have both opportunities and challenges in the process of grasping the global Internet market. The focus of the global Internet market has changed from the developed market centered on the United States to the developing market centered on China. At the same time, the Internet industry in China has developed strongly this year and gradually entered a mature stage. However, the growth rate of netizens in China has stabilized, the local demographic dividend has gradually disappeared, and the markets in developing countries such as India have entered an explosive period, and the number of netizens has increased significantly, gradually attracting market attention. China Internet still needs to find a breakthrough and seize the best opportunity of globalization. (Hao Liyang, analyst of China Internet Network Information Center)
