Building a beautiful China with blue sky and clear water bears the people’s expectation for a beautiful ecological environment.

From the frequent occurrence of heavy haze in the past to the frequent occurrence of blue sky today, the effectiveness of air pollution prevention and control in China is obvious to all. In the past 10 years, the average annual concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in key cities in China has decreased by 57%, the days of heavy pollution have decreased by 93%, and the proportion of days with excellent air quality in cities at prefecture level and above has reached 86.5%. China has become the country with the fastest improvement rate of air quality in the world.

Since the new era, the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the core has regarded the construction of ecological civilization as a fundamental plan for the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. China’s ecological civilization construction has achieved a major transformation from key rectification to systematic governance, from passive response to active action, from global environmental governance participants to leaders, from practical exploration to scientific theory guidance. Through tenacious efforts, the motherland has bluer sky, greener land, clearer water and more colorful rivers and mountains in Wan Li.

Promote green and low-carbon development, and green is increasingly becoming the bright background of high-quality development. In the past 10 years, China has supported the economic growth of more than 6% with an average annual growth rate of 3% in energy consumption, and the energy intensity has decreased by 26.4%, which is one of the countries with the fastest decrease in energy intensity in the world.

China announced the goal of carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions and actively responded to climate change. At present, the proportion of coal in China’s energy consumption has dropped to 56.2%, and the proportion of clean energy consumption has increased to 25.9%. Hydropower, wind power, solar power and biomass power generation all rank first in the world. By the end of June this year, the installed capacity of renewable energy reached 1.322 billion kilowatts, historically surpassing coal-fired power, accounting for about 48.8% of China’s total installed capacity. The production and sales volume of new energy vehicles ranked first in the world for eight consecutive years, and more than half of the new energy vehicles in the world were driving in China.

Concentrate on defending the blue sky, clear water and pure land to effectively curb the deterioration of the ecological environment.

The sky is bluer and the air is fresher. In the past 10 years, China has eliminated "scattered and polluting" enterprises, implemented clean heating in the northern region, promoted the "revolution of iron" in cargo transportation, improved the emission standards of motor vehicles … and laid a "combination boxing" for the transformation of industry, energy and transportation structure. By 2022, the average annual concentration of PM2.5 in China will reach 29 μ g/m3, and the proportion of days with excellent air quality in cities at prefecture level and above will reach 86.5%.

The water is cleaner and the river is healthier. In the past 10 years, China has accelerated the construction of urban sewage pipe network and other infrastructure, and continuously improved the urban sewage treatment capacity. Millions of river chiefs and lake chiefs across the country have taken up their duties, and the river and lake management system has been fully implemented. The appearance of rivers and lakes has been fundamentally improved, and more and more river basins have revived, and more and more rivers and lakes have become happy rivers and lakes that benefit the people. By 2022, the proportion of excellent surface water bodies in China will reach 87.9%, and the black and odorous water bodies in cities at prefecture level and above will be basically eliminated. For three consecutive years, the main stream of the Yangtze River reached Grade II water quality, and the main stream of the Yellow River reached Grade II water quality for the first time.

The soil is cleaner and the home is better. In the past 10 years, China has vigorously promoted the classification of domestic waste, improved the centralized collection and treatment capacity of urban and rural domestic waste, reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, investigated and rectified the causes of heavy metal pollution in cultivated land, effectively controlled soil environmental risks, and achieved the goal of "zero import" of solid waste as scheduled.

In recent days, Poyang Lake International Bird Watching Season has been reopened. This is a wintering "paradise" loved by rare migratory birds such as white cranes, oriental storks and cygnets. Hundreds of thousands of migratory birds fly here every year, which also attracts many birdwatchers to punch in.

In order to build a beautiful home where man and nature coexist harmoniously, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has coordinated the integrated protection and systematic management of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand, accelerated the construction of a nature reserve system with national parks as the main body, strengthened ecological protection supervision measures, and built a solid ecological security barrier for the motherland.

People use hard-working hands to plant a tree seedling and a piece of green grass, so that the greenery can touch the motherland. China has taken the lead in realizing "zero growth" of land degradation in the world, and "double reduction" of desertified land and desertified land area. China’s forest coverage rate has increased to 24.02%, becoming the country with the largest growth of forest resources and the largest area of artificial afforestation in the world, and is the main force of global "greening".

China has established the first batch of five national parks: Sanjiangyuan, Giant Panda, Northeast Tiger Leopard, Hainan Tropical Rainforest and Wuyishan. The construction of the national botanical garden system has taken important steps, and more than 50 integrated protection and restoration projects of landscape, forest, field, lake, grass and sand have been implemented. Delineate the red line of ecological protection, and the red line area of land ecological protection accounts for more than 30% of the land area.

On the land of the motherland, the beautiful China picture scroll with green mountains, ever-flowing green water and fresh air is vividly spread out, and people share the beauty of nature, life and life in the green mountains.
