BEIJING, Taiyuan, January 21 (Liu Xiaohong) On the 21st, Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, was shrouded in gray due to smog. Not only that, Shanxi Linfen, Jinzhong, Yangquan, Yuncheng and other places have experienced heavily polluted weather with an air quality index greater than 200. During this period, Shanxi officially issued a heavy pollution weather dispatching order, requiring all cities to take emergency emission reduction measures not lower than the orange level.
On the 21st, the monitoring information of the Ministry of Environmental Protection showed that the air index in Taiyuan, Linfen, Jinzhong, Yangquan and Yuncheng in Shanxi had reached the level of severe to serious pollution. During the heavily polluted weather in many places in Shanxi from the 20th to the 22nd, the peak hourly concentration of PM2.5 may reach 200-300 μ g/m3.

In this regard, Shanxi officially issued the No.2 Dispatching Order to Deal with Heavy Pollution Weather in 2018, demanding that Taiyuan, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Jinzhong, Lvliang, Yangquan, Changzhi and Jincheng be outside Datong at 0: 00 — At 24: 00 on January 21st, Linfen and Yuncheng at 0: 00 on January 20th — During the period of 24: 00 on January 22nd, emergency emission reduction measures of no less than orange level will be taken, and the early warning level will be raised at any time according to the change of air quality, and emergency emission reduction measures will be tightened.
At present, Taiyuan City has issued an orange warning for heavy pollution weather, and at the same time launched an orange (secondary) response to the emergency plan for heavy pollution weather. During this period, Taiyuan will take compulsory emergency emission reduction measures to stop using cars (excluding clean energy cars) to transport products to coal, iron ore, bauxite and kaolin mining enterprises.
Being "troubled" by the smog weather, Taiyuan people had to be fully armed when they took to the streets. Ms. Zhang, who is extremely sensitive to air pollution, is very upset. She told reporters: "In the foggy days, I kept coughing as soon as I went out, and wearing a mask didn’t help."
The relevant person in charge of the Office of the Leading Group for the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution in Shanxi Province told the reporter that the process of heavy pollution weather requires cities to intensify inspections and law enforcement, strictly implement comprehensive air pollution control measures in autumn and winter, such as off-peak production and transportation of industrial enterprises, site shutdown, and emergency emission reduction measures for heavy pollution weather. The problems found should be immediately rectified in place, and the responsible units and responsible persons should be seriously held accountable.
However, the Shanxi Meteorological Observatory issued a blue warning of cold wave on the 21st, and the warning areas are Datong, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, northern Lvliang, northern Taiyuan and Jinzhong mountainous areas. Affected by strong cold air, the minimum temperature in the early warning area will drop by more than 8℃ in the next 48 hours, and the average wind force will reach 5-6 and the gust will be more than 7.
With the arrival of cold air, Shanxi is about to bid farewell to foggy days. (End)
